My Career

Hi, My name is Linda Wall. I teach grade 3/4 at J.R. Walkof Elementary School. This is my first year teaching this grade level as well as teaching a split class. Although it has been a busy year, I am enjoying this level very much. I have 24 students in my class-12 in each grade. One of my favorite websites is: google. I also use mathworksheets.

My Vacation

Photostory Assignment Science Fair Projects

Description

The students will take pictures of the different stages of their Science Fair project. They will explain the scientific process to go along with the pictures.

The outcome desired

Students will be able to explain the scientific process as well as be able to explain how they did their experiment.

Students will: become comfortable using a digital camera.

                      learn how to download pictures into Photostory 3

                      learn how to follow the steps of Photostory 3

The plan

We will be starting the projects the week before Spring Break. I will ask Kath if I can borrow the grade 1 cameras. With my own camera and the school's, I will have a total of 5 cameras. The students work in partners. They will take pictures of the various stages of their project, beginning with brainstorming for ideas. They should take pictures of them making a hypothesis, the steps involved in their experiment, observations and the conclusions.

The E portfolio product produced

The students will produce the photostory by adding their voice recordings and music. I will have a TV set up with the photostories running during the Science Fair.
