Hi! My name is Bernie Janzen. I am a Grade Three teacher in the Garden Valley School Division. I am presently working at Parkland School. I have 26 wonderful students in my classroom and am constantly amazed at their creativity and energy. We have been learning how to create powerpoints in our classroom for our Social Studies. The website that we have been using to find pictures for our powerpoint is trekearth We have also been 'googling' to find pictures by using the image tab and then typing in a location such as Peggy's Cove and then looking for appropriate pictures.

I Am Canadian Project

Description- Students will prepare a presentation based on the I Am Canadian project.

Desired Outcome- Students will create a photostory based on the I Am Canadian project using the camera.

Plan- Students take home the camera and collect images that match the six categories of the project. The images will be put into the photostory program to be presented to the class.

E portfolio- Students will save this project as a beginning to their electronic portfolio.

Assessment- Students will be assessed according to a rubric as well as by peers.

Curricular Outcomes- 1) Students will learn about their community.

                                  2) Students will learn about each others family and compare and contrast

                                  3) Students will learn how to create and present a project using predetermined criteria

ICT Outcomes- 1) Students will learn to use a camera

                        2) Students will learn how to download images and create a photostory

                        3) Students will learn how to present this photostory to the class
