Welcome to the Garden Valley School Division PBWiki! This collaborative online space is dedicated to supporting and showcasing educational information and communications technology (ICT) projects in the division. This wiki also offers a space where professional development opportunities are communicated, and classroom learning can be extended and shared with parents/guardians. Through the divisional Technology Integration Plan (TIP), GVSD supports Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth's (MECY) Literacy with ICT Across the Curriculum initiative. The division's aim is to move beyond mere equipment acquisition, and move toward true technology infusion across the curriculum.
Our ICT Mission: to "Enlighten, encourage, and enable students and teachers to develop and use ICT literacy skills...(and)...empower learners to become responsible, contributing, and ethical members of an ever changing global society." (Technology Integration Plan 2006). If you're interested in contributing to this wiki, please contact the wiki administrator.

GVSD is planning to pilot the use of ePEARL in 2008-09. ePEARL is a powerful electronic portfolio platform developed by Concordia University, and is now used by many Manitoba schools. A group of GVSD teachers and their students will begin building portfolios this fall. The successes of this project will hopefully be shared with colleagues and parents, and the hope is that all teachers wishing to use ePEARL will be able to do so in the future. read more >>
